Risperdal
Risperdal Drugs are used as anti-psychotic drugs for treating psychological disorders. This medicine regulates and controls the chemical in the brain which causes depression. It is used in the treatment of schizophrenia disorder and bipolar disorder (manic depression). This medication can also be used for treating autistic disorder of irritability in the children. Risperdal interacts if it is used along with other drugs such as Carbatrol, Dilantin, Dilantin, Clozaril, Prozac, Paxil, Rifadin, Sinemet or bromocriptine.
How should I take this medication?
Risperdal (Risperidone) Drug is available in the form of tablet, capsule and liquid form. This medication should be used as per the dosage and the frequency suggested by the doctor. As this medicine is used to treat multiple disorders, do not use it without consulting your doctor first. Take Risperdal medication after having food or without having food. The patient should go for regular check –ups in order to see whether or not the medication is performing well. Do not skip the medication, make a regular timing for taking this medicine. If you forget to take this medication, take it immediately if there is time for your regular schedule. The liquid should be measured to ensure that you are taking the right amount of medicine. Use dose-measuring devices to measure it. Consult your doctor if you experience any uncommon side effects. Your doctor might also need to change the dosage and frequency based on how your body responds to the drug. Do not freeze the liquid form of the medication. Keep this medication in favorable temperature away from heat, light and moisture.
What are the possible side effects of using this drug?
Side effects of Risperdal are fever, stiffness of muscles, nervousness, excessive sweating, uneven or unconditional increase or decrease of heart beat rate, unconditional movement of eyes or neck muscles, formation of patches or sore at the throat or lips, unconsciousness and dizzy. Patients should consult the doctor if they experience tiredness, sleepiness, blurry or unclear vision, dryness of mouth, constipation problem, change of sex drive. Beside this, Risperidone drug may also cause allergic reactions such as such as hives, breathing problem, swollen tongue or throat, swollen face or lips, searing or cracking skin and burning sensation.
What precautions do I need to follow while using Risperdal?
Risperdal is not for use in psychotic conditions that are related to dementia. Risperidone (Risperdal) medication has caused fatal heart attack and stroke in older adults with dementia-related conditions. You should not use this medication if you are allergic to Risperidone. If you have any of these other conditions, you may need a dose adjustment or special tests to safely take Risperdal. Patients suffering or having a liver problem, kidney problem, heart disease or high blood pressure disorder, prior record of heart attack or stroke, deficiency of white blood cells, breast cancer or seizures and diabetes should consult the doctor as there might be a need of adjustment in the dosage. Use this medication carefully in the older people as this medication can cause fatal heart attack or strokes if the patient is having dementia problem. Over dosage of drug could be equally harmful and should be avoided. Make sure you also let your doctor know if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or a lactating mother.

My friend, Bob, has a fictitious toy which his brother, Joe, who is schizophrenic, likes to play with. However, my maternal mother subsidizes to them because of her hypertension which makes her want to help! She displayed philanthropy by having a charity for Joe. Joe's mom prevaricates that Joe is not have schizophrenic. Bob, one day told me his mom was dismembering Joe's bed subconsciously! Then everything became molten lava!! That was when I woke up screaming from that horrible dream!!
